Magento Development
Magento (Adobe Commerce) development for stores whose catalogue, pricing or multi-store requirements have outgrown a hosted platform.
Who this is for
Merchants with large catalogues, multiple storefronts, or pricing rules that hosted platforms cannot express. If a standard catalogue on a hosted platform would do, Shopify will cost you less to run.
What you get
- Magento build and theme development
- Catalogue architecture: attribute sets, categories, complex and configurable products
- Multi-store and multi-currency configuration
- Custom extension development, and evaluation of third-party extensions
- Integration with ERP, inventory, payment and shipping systems
- Migration from another platform, with URL and SEO preservation
What this does not include
- Hosting and infrastructure, unless bought separately — Magento needs real server capacity
- Adobe Commerce licence fees, if you use the commercial edition
- Third-party extension licences, billed at cost
What Magento is
Magento is an open-source e-commerce platform for stores with real complexity — large catalogues, multiple storefronts, several currencies, and pricing rules that go beyond a single number per product.
It is powerful and it is heavy. Both facts matter when you choose it.
When Magento is the right choice
- The catalogue runs to thousands of SKUs with meaningful attribute structure.
- You operate several storefronts, brands, regions or currencies from one system.
- Pricing depends on customer group, contract or volume.
- You need to integrate with an ERP or warehouse system as a first-class concern.
When it is not
- A straightforward catalogue. Shopify will cost less to build and far less to run.
- No appetite for infrastructure. Magento needs proper server capacity, a caching layer and someone responsible for keeping it patched.
- A very small team. The platform assumes someone owns it.
How we work
We start with catalogue architecture — attribute sets, category structure, product types. Getting that wrong is expensive to unwind once you have inbound links and indexed pages.
Third-party extensions are evaluated before they are installed. In Magento an extension is not a plugin you can casually remove; it becomes part of your upgrade path.
Frequently asked questions
Is Magento overkill for my store?
Often, yes — and we will say so. Magento earns its complexity when you have a large catalogue, several storefronts, or pricing rules a hosted platform cannot express. Below that, it is a maintenance burden you do not need.
What does Magento need to run properly?
Considerably more than shared hosting: dedicated resources, a caching layer, and someone responsible for updates. Budget for infrastructure as a running cost, not a one-off.
Open Source or Adobe Commerce?
Magento Open Source is free to license and covers most requirements. Adobe Commerce adds hosted infrastructure and commercial features at a substantial licence cost. The decision is usually about support obligations rather than features.
