Shopify Development

Shopify store setup, theme customisation and app integration for selling online without running your own servers.

Who this is for

Businesses that want to sell online and would rather not own hosting, PCI compliance or platform upgrades. If you need the storefront to live inside a larger content site you control, WordPress with WooCommerce or Magento may suit better.

What you get

  • Store setup: catalogue structure, collections, variants and inventory
  • Theme customisation, or a custom theme where the design calls for one
  • Payment gateway and shipping configuration for your regions
  • App selection and integration, including custom app work where nothing fits
  • Migration of products, customers and orders from an existing store
  • Handover training on catalogue and order management

What this does not include

  • Shopify subscription and transaction fees, which you pay Shopify directly
  • Paid app licences, billed at cost
  • Product photography and description writing

What Shopify is

Shopify is a hosted commerce platform. You do not run the servers, install updates or maintain PCI compliance for the checkout — the platform does that, and you pay a subscription plus transaction fees for it.

That is the whole trade. You give up control of the stack and gain not having to think about it.

When Shopify is the right choice

  • You want to sell without acquiring an infrastructure problem.
  • Your catalogue is conventional: products, variants, collections, standard shipping and tax rules.
  • You would rather spend on marketing than on server maintenance.
  • You need to launch quickly.

When it is not

  • Deep checkout customisation. It is restricted, more so on lower plans.
  • Complex B2B pricing — customer-specific price lists, negotiated rates, approval flows. Magento is built for that.
  • Commerce as a small part of a large content site. If the store is one section of a much bigger site, running it inside your existing CMS may be simpler than integrating two systems.

How we work

Store structure first, theme second. Catalogue taxonomy is the thing that is painful to change once you have traffic and inbound links, so it is worth getting right before anyone picks colours.

We keep the app list short on purpose. Every app is a subscription, a dependency and a possible conflict at the next platform update.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose Shopify over a self-hosted store?

You trade control for operational relief. Shopify runs the servers, handles PCI compliance and applies platform updates. You give up deep control of the stack and pay ongoing platform fees. For most small and mid-sized catalogues that trade is worth it.

Can you move an existing store to Shopify?

Yes — products, variants, customers and order history. Redirects from the old URLs are part of the work, not an extra.

What are the limits?

Checkout customisation is restricted on lower plans, and complex B2B pricing rules can be awkward. If you hit those constraints we will say so before you commit rather than after.
