Content Writing

Writing for websites — pages, articles and product copy — aimed at the reader first and search second.

Who this is for

Businesses that know what they do but do not have time or people to write it down clearly, and sites whose copy no longer matches what they now sell.

What you get

  • Page copy for new and rebuilt sites
  • Articles and guides on topics your customers actually search for
  • Product and category descriptions
  • Rewriting existing pages that underperform
  • A brief agreed before writing, so the draft is not a guess
  • One revision round included; further rounds agreed up front

What this does not include

  • Publishing and scheduling, unless agreed
  • Translation
  • Content generated in bulk to target keyword variations — see below

Writing that has a job to do

Most website copy fails for an ordinary reason: it describes the organisation instead of helping the reader decide. A page should answer what this is, whether it applies to me, and what happens next.

How we work

A brief first. Audience, purpose, the action we want, and — importantly — which claims you can actually stand behind. We will not invent statistics, capabilities or customer outcomes to make a page sound stronger. If a claim cannot be supported, it does not go in.

Structure before prose. Headings that describe content rather than tease it. Someone scanning should be able to find the part they need.

Plain language. Short sentences, concrete nouns, no filler. Jargon only where the audience genuinely uses it.

What we will not produce

Pages generated in bulk to catch keyword variations. Near-duplicate pages that differ only by a place name. Text written to reach a word count.

Those approaches are what search engines have spent years learning to discount, and they dilute the pages that actually matter to you.

Frequently asked questions

Do you write for search engines or for readers?

Readers. Pages that only exist to hold keywords perform badly and age worse. Search considerations shape which topics we cover and how pages are structured — they do not shape the sentences.

Will you write dozens of near-identical pages for different keywords?

No. Near-duplicate pages that differ only by a city or a keyword are the pattern search engines are explicitly built to discount, and they dilute the pages you actually care about.

How do you learn our subject?

From you. We agree a brief covering audience, purpose and the claims you can actually stand behind, before writing. That last part matters — we will not invent capabilities, statistics or customer outcomes.

How many revisions?

One round is included. If a piece needs more than that, usually the brief was wrong, and we would rather fix the brief.
